Rigging Overview

Exclusive In-House Rigging Contractor

Aerial Rigging, Inc., is the exclusive in-house rigging contractor for Gansevoort Miami.
Our primary obligation is to ensure that all rigging is carried out in a safe efficient manner.
We must approve your rigging design to ensure that it is efficient and that it does not exceed approved loads.

We are responsible to install and dismantle all your equipment needs that require rigging.
We are responsible to the hotel to ensure that we respect the structural limitations of the meeting rooms
as established by their engineers and to safeguard all the hotel equipment and installations.
Aerial will exclusively provide all necessary chain hoist motors and rigging supplies.
All signs, banners and decorations must be hung by Aerial.

Rigging Approval

Please contact Swank Audio Visuals for CADS of the Ballrooms . Aerial will require, 14 days prior to load in, a plot plan showing all lighting, audio, video, and scenic equipment that requires rigging.  Your drawings can be faxed or e-mailed to us in DWG, DWF, or EPS format.

All quotes will be furnished by Swank Audio Visuals.

Rigging Guidelines
ok
  • All connections to the ceiling or supporting structure of Gansevoort Miami must be made by Aerial.

  • No rigging is permitted from the air-wall tracks.

  • A plot plan showing the rigging requirements and detailing the weights to be supported must be submitted 14 days prior to your event. Aerial will review this plan in order to determine whether it respects the load limits and permanent point installation of The Gansevoort Miami Beach.

  • Any rigging modifications, additions, or deletions to the plot plan must be approved in advance by Aerial.
The cost of any changes to an installation necessitated as a result of not having these changes approved in advance will be borne by the client.

  • Equipment that has already been “flown” can be moved only by Aerial.

  • All signs, banners, and decorations must be hung by Aerial whether in the Ballrooms, foyers, etc.

  • Items attached to the ceilings must be a minimum of eight (8) feet above the floor.

  • Climbing on equipment once equipment it has been “flown” is prohibited.

  • Any equipment to be added to a hung rig must be installed by Aerial.

  • The per point load limit in the Ballrooms is 1000 lbs.

  • All equipment and materials flown must pass A.N.T.S.E. and ESTA standard guidelines.

  • All truss used must be manufactured by accredited manufacturer who can provide engineered drawings of the truss upon request. Aerial Rigging reserves the right to deem equipment unsuitable for hanging if engineered drawings cannot be provided upon request.

  • Any articulating/dynamic (i.e. moving) show or performance element must have an arrester device.

  • A scale will be used to establish that the actual weight of the equipment agrees with the estimated weights submitted. We will also use load cells to verify the total weight of the rig.

  • A steel “safety” is required for each individual item suspended from the ceiling, any supporting structure or truss.

  • All electric cables and connections must be UL rated for the amperage capacity required for safe operation and must conform to all local codes.

  • All material used must be non-flammable and must conform to the fire regulations of the Fire Marshall.

  • Aerial will make all connections to the ceilings and assist your staff in attaching connections to the truss and equipment.

  • Banner placement, outside of ballrooms and/or meeting rooms, must be approved in advance through your CSM.
